Why Albania?

The relationship between Italy and Albania is a millennia-old saga. It began with the ancient Illyrians and Romans, whose proximity turned the Adriatic into a shared bridge for trade and conquest. A defining moment of collaboration came in the 15th century, when the Albanian national hero Skanderbeg allied with the Kingdom of Naples to resist Ottoman expansion and protect Christianity — leading to the migration of the Arbëreshë people to Southern Italy, a community that preserves Albanian culture to this day. Following Albania's independence in 1912 and the complex layers of the 20th century, the bond evolved into a modern strategic partnership. Today, Italy stands as Albania's primary economic partner and a strong advocate for its integration into the European Union.

Why Albania

A gateway for Italian excellence & profitable growth

Italy and Albania are more than neighbors — they are natural economic partners. For Italian investors, Albania is the “20th Region”: a market that combines the familiarity of Italian culture and language with the aggressive growth incentives of an emerging Balkan tiger.

Strategic advantages for Italian clients

Tax efficiency & incentives

A competitive fiscal regime — a 5% corporate tax rate for many SMEs and a 0% rate for small businesses with annual turnover up to ~€120,000.

2030

The “No-Tax Area” until 2030

Strategic sectors and technology parks offer long-term tax holidays, letting you reinvest profits into scaling your operations.

Bilateral security

Leverage the Italy–Albania Double Taxation Treaty — your income is protected and your fiscal obligations streamlined across the Adriatic.

Operational synergies

A young, multilingual workforce where Italian is widely spoken — reducing the “cultural friction” and training costs of international expansion.

Nearshoring excellence

With Italy as Albania's primary trading partner, logistics are seamless — real-time supply-chain management and “made-in-Europe” quality at a fraction of the cost.
